Vice President Kamala Harris

Here’s what our Vice President, Kamala Harris, recently said to CNN’s Dana Bush in an exclusive one-on-one interview about the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and its impact on parents of sons.

“Abortion is the right that a woman should have to make decisions about her own body. And when we think about it, everyone has something at risk on this. First of all, if you are a parent of sons, do think about what this means for the life of your son and what that will mean in term of the choices he will have.”

Vice President Kamala Harris

If that’s not one of the most irresponsible remarks I’ve ever heard from a sitting U.S. President and/or Vice President say then it’s the most irresponsible remark. Former President Trump, as President, regularly made comments that some thought were irresponsible. But I cannot think of anything (even after doing some research) he had said that was completely against long standing American values, such as taking responsibility for your actions. Babies don’t come out of thin air.

Contrary to what Vice President Harris is suggesting, as a parent, if I had a son that mistakenly got a woman pregnant, I’d expect him to take responsibility for his actions. I think that’s the expectation of most, if not all, respectable parents. Our society, the U.S. government, in fact, primarily via the school system, and our parents, raised us to be responsible individuals. Vice President Harris thinks otherwise. She thinks having sex carelessly should be okay. And, by continuing to use this decision to contend that freedom and liberty are at risk, generally, she thinks that one’s actions shouldn’t necessarily have consequences even if the risks are known.

It’s hard for me to believe that Vice President Harris made that remark but it’s not surprising given her background. Even though I didn’t like her as the Vice President, I still respected her as a person. Now, she can go to hell. Had Vice President Harris stopped after the first sentence, although I would have disagreed with her stance, there wouldn’t have been an issue. She’s a clear example of how far America has strayed from its core values.

Without a doubt, I’m certain that if the Democratic Party had its way, America would try to legalize prostitution. Case in point, Democratic Governor Gavin Newsome just decriminalized loitering in a public place with the intent to engage in prostitution by enacting California’s Safer Streets for All Act on July 1, 2022. I believe that’s one of the unspoken reasons Vice President Harris, Sheryl Sandberg, the former COO of Facebook (Meta), and other women are pro-choice. They think it benefits economically unprivileged women. While there would be some families of prostitutes that are positively affected, they would be the exception. Having known and known of many prostitutes, which is something that’s hard to avoid when Southeast Asia becomes your home unless you’re a homebody, tolerating prostitution would eventually ruin our society. It’d have a multi-generational impact. Just look at Thailand and Vietnam, for example. Two of the top sexcation destinations in the world. That’s a large part of the problem for those countries. Money isn’t the solution. Vice President Harris, Sheryl Sandberg and people like them should know better. It’d be counterproductive. Legalizing prostitution would make women even more submissive to men. Overturning Roe v. Wade was a step back in the right direction.

Additionally, I’d like to point out that I haven’t heard anyone make a solid argument in favor of abortion rights. Being educated to some extent, I’ve learned that a solid argument for anything includes the counterarguments, albeit brief, and describes their faults. It shows that you’re not naïve. I haven’t heard anyone that’s pro-choice make a counterargument.

Every woman that I have known who has had an abortion lives with regret.
